Dingxi Day 2 — Tasks Assigned
Still can’t access the internet. Blogging via mobile phone.
Early this morning, we received documents from Dingxi city leaders assigning tasks to the four of us. After a big bowl of beef拉面 (3 yuan), the Dingxi Personnel Bureau sent a Hongqi car to pick us up.
At the Dingxi city government compound, we met the leaders and learned our arrangements. I’m a software person, so I’m assigned to the City Informatization Office. Classmate Zhao (law) goes to the Judicial Office. Classmate Lu (environmental science) goes to the Environmental Protection Bureau. Team leader Yan (civil engineering) goes to the Construction Commission.
After assignment, we were each delivered to our对口 departments. The feeling was like the brother sending his siblings for adoption in “My Brothers and Sisters.” I followed Director Gao Fu to the sixth floor. He introduced me to the科室 colleagues — unfortunately, my memory is poor and I didn’t remember any names. They (soon I’ll say “we”) mainly maintain two websites — Dingxi’s official site and China Potato City site. We exchanged pleasantries.
At noon, they arranged accommodation for me — a two-bedroom, one-living-room apartment, all to myself. Except there’s nothing but a bed. If I were staying longer, I could really decorate it like a cozy home.
